I love the response on MMO sites, the usual

"Turbine are the devil and are letting the f2p rabble in"

nobs.

I may pop back in with this and go and see Tom B

I did not enjoy the pve side of the game very much, the levelling was just painfully slow. But I loved the PVP monster play that was good fun, miss my weaver.

Will probably give this one a whirl when I feel the need for the next World of Warcraft breather.

If there was a mac client I'd give this a spin, as it is it's looking like Lego Universe if the next MMO for me. Shame as I did enjoy my brief trial time in LOTRO, just couldn't crack the comms to talk to the CUK'ers that played

I apologise for suggesting Lego Universe might be a fun MMO, I shall go back to WoW DRAMAZ and EVE ZZzzzz'ing to keep you happy

As for my iPad Peg have you used one as yet ? I couldn't fault mine over the weekend, and very unusually I didn't fire up the laptop once over the whole weekend

Players who elect to become a LOTRO VIP will have unlimited access to all premium content, receive priority server access, 5 character slots, a shared bank slot, and a monthly allotment of Points to spend in the new LOTRO Store.

NB: All current lifetime subscription holders will automatically become VIPs under the new pricing model.

This effectively allows a slightly more limited version of the 14 day trial (ie less toons, less bags) for an unlimited time, so may be good for the occasional player. The idea I think is to get more new players involved and more activity at lower levels, as many currently drop after 14 days as their trial expires.

Played up to before the last expansion got to max level whatever that was, found the world seriously empty when I did play tried out the pvp which to be honest wasn't overly exciting quit, shame as i thought the game looked amazing :/

currently gaying it up in WoW as my game time is so limited it fits the bill perfectly as I don't have the hours of patience for a proper pvp gamez!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™ EUROPEAN FREE TO PLAY LAUNCH DELAYED

Codemasters Online today announces that the launch of The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) Free to Play Store and the latest content, Book 2; Ride of the Grey Company will now launch across Europe later than expected.

"We are really pleased with the performance of the game and excited about the response to Free to Play from our players.” said Mike Rowland, Producer of LOTRO. “Given the complexities and challenges faced in the preparation and implementation of the new store to work within our infrastructure, we feel more time is needed to deliver the high level of service our players have quite rightly come to expect. As a result, we have decided to delay launch to ensure that we can support the massive increase in players that we are anticipating and deliver them a Free to Play experience like none other."

For more information on Free to Play, visit http://www.lotro-europe.com/freetoplay
